Coined the “People’s House”, the Volks House is a residence developed early in our passive house career. A collaboration between Wamo Studio and NEEDBASED the project demonstrated the cost competitiveness of passive house construction in the southwest mountain region.  Presented by NEEDBASED at the International Passive House Conference in Germany in 2009, this project tracked the economic path of passive house design, development, marketing, and sale which indicated zero-energy passive houses can be built competitively and meet buyer expectations.
