Overlooking the Rio Medio along the Pecos National Forest, this off-grid fly fishing cabin is a dream come true. The direct simple roof form eccentrically extends over a cantilevering deck that is the same size as the cabin itself. The cabin is fully lit and powered by low-voltage electrical distribution more reminiscent of a vehicular wiring harness than a residential home. The systems design on this project was a model of simplicity and reduction. Using portable off-grid electrical storage and a roof catchment / sand filter / gravity feed water supply. When not occupied, all doors and windows can be fully shuttered.
