Anticipated as the first Passive House in Los Alamos, the GEN House is contains two separate master suites for the two generations of owners. Large open and shared common rooms such as kitchen and living areas contain views to the South, East and West, while the bed rooms and separate study’s are very private and function as complete living areas as needed. The property sits adjacent to the national forest and overlooks the city of Los Alamos and the Santa Fe Mountains.
AGING IN PLACE / Universal Design
Designed for multiple generations, the main floor is fully ADA compliant and is accessed from the lower garage level by an internal wheelchair lift. Instead of attempting to fully enclose the lift within the Primary Thermal Envelope which would be next-to-impossible and very expensive, the lift is enclosed within the architecture yet only accesses the thermal envelope at the main floor level.
